Location definitely plays a role. In Stuttgart, on the Weinsteige, Andreas Scherle is at home with his hotel and restaurant. Almost 1,000 of the 1,400 items on the wine list are German wines, with Riesling, Pinot Noir and – of course – Lemberger playing the main roles. In addition to the location in the middle of the red wine epicenter, the long pioneering work also plays a major role, because the wine range of the Scherle family has been geared towards German wines and especially German red wines for decades. "Almost all top German red wines that we serve are older than five, sometimes ten years, which is possible for us due to the vintage depth of the individual wines, and also clearly gives us an additional advantage when selling German red wines compared to many of our colleagues." Of course, the red wines from Württemberg and Baden form the core, but that alone would not have been enough for victory. Five other German wine-growing regions are also represented with selected top-quality red wines.
