The ambiance in our gourmet restaurant Zur Weinsteige, renewed in January 2024, sets the framework for an unforgettable culinary experience. Exquisite gold leaf and modern elements interplay in perfect harmony in the rustic dining room, which along with the extensive menu, immerse our guests in timelessly elegant originality.
Since taking over the restaurant in 1991, Executive Chef Jörg Scherle has creatively showcased regional Swabian cuisine accented by Mediterranean and Japanese influences, a concept which has delighted both gourmets and critics alike.

Similar accolades apply to our oft featured wine list and the expert wine guidance given by Andreas Scherle: out of over 1,500 wines from around the world, we are always ready to recommend the glass to perfectly round out your culinary experience. The 1,000 wines from Germany alone testify to the breadth of the local winemaking expertise and the largest selection of Rieslings in the region (over 500 Rieslings) showcase the incredible diversity of this world-class grape variety.

We would like to take this opportunity to explain our strong connection to Japan and Japanese cuisine.
In addition to the hotel and restaurant, chef Jörg Scherle is also the owner of "Koi Stuttgart". He has been dealing very successfully with original Japanese koi carp for over 20 years. As a result, he spends several weeks in Japan every year to select the best koi carp for his customers and the World Championships in Tokyo from the most renowned breeders in the Niigata Mountains. His stays in Japan over the last few years have also influenced his culinary skills and Japanese cuisine has therefore found its way into our menus. Together with his long-time sous-chef Holger Haag, he creates modern German-Japanese dishes with which we want to inspire you.
